During the last 5 years, China has achieved fruitful outputs in many fields of technological innovation. China's spending overall on R&D has risen from 2.1 percent to over 2.5 percent of GDP over the past five years. The contribution of scientific and technological progress to economic growth exceeded 60 percent. Next step, China will accelerate research and development (R&D) and the application of cutting-edge technologies.
